A poche settimane dalla pubblicazione di 'WHO DIED AND MADE YOU KING?', Jaguar Jonze torna con 'CUT', il secondo singolo tratto dal disco in arrivo nei prossimi mesi su etichetta Nettwerk Records.
Artista imprevedibile, produttice, songwriter e creatrice di contenuti multimediali, Jaguar Jonze in 'CUT' è schietta e diretta come non mai, esprimendo con una ferocia provocatoria la rabbia dietro il rendersi conto che le persone di cui si fidava professionalmente in realtà la stavano solo manipolando. 'CUT' esprime il ritorno al controllo dell'artista su sé stessa ed un deciso e netto taglio con il passato.
In quanto prolifica artista, Jaguar Jonze ha personalmente pensato e realizzato il video che accompagna il brano, come è successo anche per i suoi precedenti videoclip. “I wanted a physical interpretation of the meaning behind my song CUT in the music video that was riding the fine line between shocking, engaging, maniacal, determined, comedic, and angry. I only had two weeks to put the concept together, shoot it and edit it. I'm so proud of what was created in that pressure-cooker environment, focusing on my artistry again has seen me direct, produce, and edit all my music videos. I love learning this new medium to express my emotions and tell stories. In CUT, I wanted people to feel the desperation and determination to CUT themselves off from toxic, manipulative, gaslighting relationships in any environment once you've realized what has been happening to you. What better way to say that than putting an angle grinder to your private bits to "cut" yourself out of there?" afferma Jaguar Jonze.
Gli ultimi 18 mesi sono stati molto produttivi per l'artista australiana: dopo la pubblicazione di 'Diamonds & Liquid Gold', il debutto sulla lunga distanza (aprile 2020) ed 'ANTIHERO' (aprile 2021), sempre su etichetta Nettwerk, Jaguar Jonze si è esibita, lo scorso anno, agli Eurovision - Australian Decides, ottenendo un gran successo, aggiudicandosi gli AIR Awards nella categoria Outstanding Achievement ed il Triple J 'Done Good' Award.
Tra i volti più rappresentativi del movimento #MeToo in patria, è considerata da Vogue Australia tra le '21 donne più ispiranti del 2021'. Jaguar Jonze è stata l'unica artista-musicista ad essere invitata agli incontri-eventi di ARIA, APRA, AMCOS e PPCA, per affrontare i problemi diffusi del settore musicale in materia di molestie sessuali. E' stata inoltre relatrice ospite del seminario On My Mind Mental Health e di alcune conferenze dell'industria musicale sulla salute mentale. Jaguar Jonze continua inoltre a patrocinare il Temporary Working Group.
