Dopo 'Drug', un brano dalle chitarre ruvide ed incavolate, 'Strange Love' è il nuovo singolo tratto dall'omonimo EP in arrivo il 29 marzo per Bmg. Il nuovo brano rappresenta l'essenza di Simple Creatures, la collaborazione nata tra i frontman di due tra le più importanti pop-punk band, ovvero Mark Hoppus (blink-182) ed Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low)

Simple Creatures nasce dalla collaborazione tra Mark Hoppus (blink-182) ed Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low). Amici di lunga data, Hoppus e Gaskarth - entrambi già impegnati coi rispetti progetti - si frequentano in realtà da molto tempo e dalla loro profilica collaborazione hanno deciso di dare vita a Simple Creatures, il cui primo brano scritto fu proprio 'Drug', il primo singolo con cui si presentano ai numerosi fan, che posso però rimanere tranquilli perchè sia blink-182 che All Time Low, assicurano i due frontman, non sono per niente in pausa!
L'EP di debutto contenente 6 nuovi brani, è in arrivo su etichetta BMG il 29 marzo. Il secondo brano estratto, 'Strange Love', che da il titolo all'EP, è la quintessenza di Simple Creatures: chitarre grintose, synth distorti, batterie fuori tempo, rumore e divertimento. Con 'Strange Love' Hoppus e Gaskarth escono dalla loro comfort zone, felici di sperimentare nuovi suoni e nuove tecniche di registrazione.
'Strange Love is the first glimpse into the Simple Creatures universe. Cooked up in studios and basements around Los Angeles, we set out to push ourselves in musical directions that are new and exciting to us. Embracing new recording techniques and processes, we broke songs down to their barest bones and rebuilt them into musical Frankenstein monsters. From uptempo tracks like 'Drug,' to the ratty snarl of 'Lucy,' we've broken out of our own musical molds and built a world of trashy guitars, distorted synths, crushing programmed drums, and a whole lot of fun and noise,' afferma Hoppus.
'Strange Love is the proverbial foot-kicking-down-the-door to the house of Simple Creatures. We picked these songs to represent everything that this project is about, to defy expectations, and to showcase the stylistic choices we set out to make from its inception. The approach to writing was, 'whatever makes us feel like we're way outside of our comfort zone.' We weren't afraid to push each other and strive to get stranger,' continua Gaskarth.
