Noto soprattutto per la sua versione del famosissimo brano ‘Light My Fire’, l’icona del pop made in UK pubblica oggi ‘My Love’, nuovo brano tratto da ‘Lexicon’, il settimo album di studio in arrivo il 21 giugno su etichetta Cooking Vinyl/Egea Music/The Orchard. Dopo l’anticipazione con ‘All The Songs’, il cui divertentissimo video è stato realizzato dal famoso fotografo Rankin, ‘My Love’ è una vera e propria super hit, tra ritmi da dancefloor e melodie catchy pop, un perfetto assaggio di ‘Lexicon’, un disco costruito attorno al concetto della gioia della pop music: "I always say that there's no point in doing it if it's not joyous. That's been my motto: do it the way you want to do it." afferma Will Young.
‘My Love’, scritta e prodotta da Will Young e Jim Eliot, esplode in modo inaspettato: “When we were writing, I kept thinking of the chequered floors of a disco. That’s what was in my head. And it’s slightly Jamiroquai, I think.” conclude Will Young.
La gioia di Young e la leggerezza provata nel comporre ‘Lexicon’, vera scintilla di creatività per l’artista, sono un vero e proprio nuovo inizio, un nuovo percorso, rappresentato anche dal fatto di aver firmato con Cooking Vinyl, etichetta indipendente. Il nuovo album è stato creato in parte con lo stesso team che affiancò Will Young in ‘Echoes’ (2011), compresi i produttori e songwriters Richard X, Jim Eliot, Mina Stilwell, a cui si sono aggiunti Eg White (Adele, Florence + The Machine), l’incredibile nuovo talento Boy Matthews (ZAYN, Duke Dumont), Danny Shah (David Guetta, Kylie Minogue) e Tom Walker.

Originario della parte più a sud di Londra, Will Young, quarantenne, ha trascorso attivamente gli anni tra un disco e l’altro, prestando la propria voce nella campagna per il movimento LGBTQ e sostenendo la Woman’s Aid Association e la Children’s Society Safe and Sound Campaign. Attivo dal 2002, anno in cui ha esordito sulle scene musicali con la vittoria del programma tv Pop Idol, Will Young si è aggiudicato ben 2 Brit Awards, 4 singoli al numero 1 delle UK Singles Charts, 4 album al numero 1 delle UK Album Charts e cinque dischi di platino. Last but not least, Young è stato votato, in un recente sondaggio, come l’artista britannico preferito di tutti i tempi, superando Robbie Williams e Paul McCartney.
Ad accompagnare la pubblicazione di ‘Lexicon’, una serie di primi concerti estivi ed autunnali.
