As demonstrated with previous tracks ‘IOU’, and ‘3AM’, You Me At Six are on a roll, showcasing multi-dimensions to the band’s evolution.
‘Back Again’ is no exception, with the 5-piece exhibiting their versatility once more, replacing what was once distortion and big rock riffs,
for indie-pop prowess, resulting in what is set to be one of this summer’s break out anthems.
On the sounds and themes to their new single, frontman Josh Franceschi comments;
“Back Again is quite a departure for us sonically. We took some risks, We wanted to soundtrack people’s weekends.
It’s a song, lyrically, about recovery, but not from vices. From feeling lost within yourself. Feeling back,
your friends & family feeling like they got their person back from adversity”

Continua la scalata al successo per una delle rock band più apprezzate nella scena musicale inglese e non solo. Attivi dal 2004, con cinque album alle spalle, tutti dischi d’oro in UK, gli YOU ME AT SIX confermano la loro maturità artistica con “VI”, il sesto album di studio in uscita il 5 ottobre via Underdog Records/AWAL. Anticipato dalla double A-side “Fast Forward” & “3AM”, il nuovo lavoro segna la neo nata collaborazione con AWAL.
“VI” non suona come vi aspettereste un disco di You Me At Six. Registrato ai VADA Studios (UK) con Dan Austin (Biffy Clyro, Massive Attack, Pixies), e co-prodotto, per la prima volta, dalla band stessa, il nuovo lavoro è decisamente più alternative-pop oriented, con accenni di electro dance floor, senza però trascurare l’origine rock della band. Un sound mainstream ma che, nello stesso tempo, non appartiene a nessuna categoria di genere.
Con il successo dei precedenti cinque dischi, di cui 4 nella UK Top 5 Album, con “Cavalier Youth” al n. 1 delle classifiche di vendita e con singoli nelle Top Radio Charts inglesi, americane ed australiane, concerti sold-out in Inghliterra ed America, cresce l’attesa per questo nuovo lavoro che mostra una nuova entusiasmante direzione della band inglese, attiva dal 2004.
“VI” è anche il primo album pubblicato con Underdog Records, l’etichetta della band, in partnership con AWAL. “You have to make music for yourself,” afferma il cantante Josh Franceschi “because without authenticity people are going to smell the bullshit. None of us are going to into this with any fear, because we’ve made something we can stand behind.”
Ad accompagnare la pubblicazione di “VI”, un lungo tour da headliner che, a partire da giugno, porterà la band sui palchi dei migliori festival estivi e dei migliori club, con un’unica data italiana il 1 febbraio 2019 a Milano, Santeria Social Club.
