Lamb annunciano il nuovo album di studio, il settimo, in arrivo il 26 aprile per Cooking Vinyl/Edel. Anticipato dal brano ‘Armageddon Waits’, ‘The Secret of Letting Go’ parla dello spazio tra i suoni, articolandosi in un crescendo di armonie minimali con ‘Phosphorus’, la traccia che apre l’album, per passare ai cori di ‘One Hand Clapping’, alla sub-bass del brano che da il titolo al disco, agli ipnotici ritmi di ‘Deep Delirium’ fino al loop di piano di ‘Imperial Measures’. ‘The Secret of Letting Go’ è un disco evocativo e contemplativo, estatico. La voce lunare di Lou Rhodes accompagna perfettamente ogni nota e gli spazi che si creano tra un suono ed il successivo. Scritto e registrato nell’arco di un anno tra lo studio della band in Inghilterra, Ibiza e l’India, ‘The Secret of Letting Go’ segna il passaggio di Lamb verso nuove sperimentazioni. A cinque anni di distanza da ‘Backspace Unwind’, il nuovo disco di studio segna il ritorno di una tra le band più suggestive del panorama musicale inglese, in grado di amalgamare l’elettronica con il cantautorato.
Lamb will play a one-off show in London at EartH in Hackney on Monday 29th April to debut the new album live.
Lamb are Lou Rhodes and Andy Barlow. Originally formed in Manchester in the mid ’90s, they fused multiple electronic music styles with Rhodes’ gorgeous, arresting vocals for a decade. During a hiatus of several years, Rhodes’ made a handful of acclaimed solo albums and Barlow produced other artists. Since reforming, Lamb have released new music (2014’s Backspace Unwind) and also toured their classic self-titled debut album on the 21st anniversary of its release.
