The Art Of McCartney è un progetto speciale a lungo atteso che celebra uno
degli autori più amati di tutti i tempi, Sir Paul McCartney. Alcuni dei più
grandi artisti al mondo, con la collaborazione della band di McCartney,

Il livello degli artisti che partecipano al progetto è davvero impressionante. Tra gli altri ci sono Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, The Cure, The
Who's Roger Daltrey, Brian Wilson, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Dr John,
Yusuf, Barry Gibb, Jamie Cullum, KISS, Chrissie Hynde, la leggenda degli ELO
Jeff Lynne, tutti con l'intento di mostrare grande rispetto e celebrare il
genio di Paul Mc Cartney.

The Art Of McCartney è un'idea del produttore Ralph Sall, fan dei Beatles e
dello stesso McCartney. Sall ha incontrato e lavorato con Paul nel 2003 per
rieditare un brano tratto dalle Ram Sessions del 1971 per una colonna
sonora. Proprio in quell'occasione Ralph chiese a Paul e ai suoi editori il
benestare per il progetto.

Ralph divenne così un uomo con una missione, prima reclutando i chitarristi
di Paul McCartney, Rusty Anderson e Brian Ray, il tastierista Paul "Wix"
Wickens, oltre all'incredibile batterista Abe Laboriel Jr, poi contattando i
più grandi performer del mondo. Questo progetto è un atto di amore, non solo da parte di Ralph, ma anche di tutti gli artisti che hanno dedicato il loro
tempo per farne parte. Tutti hanno dichiarato quanto McCartney e il suo
songwriting siano stati importanti nella loro carriera e hanno voluto
dimostrare la loro gratitudine.

Il leggendario Beach Boy, Brian Wilson, è stato il primo a rispondere alla
sfida. Senza dubbio ha alzato l'asticella molto in alto con la sua interpretazione di Wanderlust, tratto dal sottovalutato album del 1982 Tug
Of War.

Ci sono davvero pochi artisti il cui lavoro può competere con quello dei The
Beatles. Per questo motivo, Ralph Sall sapeva che invitare Bob Dylan a far
parte del progetto sarebbe stata una mossa ambiziosa ma giusta.

Ci sono così tante grandi interpretazioni che risulta difficile selezionarne
alcune. Dovendo farlo possiamo pensare alla versione emozionante di
Yesterday di Willie Nelson, oppure alla frenetica Helter Skelter di Roger
Daltrey, l'atmosferica On The Way di B.B. King e la perfetta Hello Goodbye
dei The Cure e ancora la voce soave di Smokey Robinson nella sua versione di So Bad.

Tutti gli aspetti del repertorio di Paul McCartney incluso quello con i The
Beatles, dai suoi primi lavori solisti sperimentali, ai suoi lavori più
recenti, sono stati esplorati in questo album. Compaiono anche classici meno
noti come Junk e Every Night.

Il primo singolo dell'album è la versione dei The Cure (con alle tastiere
James, il figlio di Sir Paul) del classico dei Beatles "Hello Goodbye", ed è
anche la prima musica che The Cure fanno uscire dopo 6 anni. Il brano è
